Some great events happening in #CoolNorfolk

We've been told about some fantastic events happening close to our Holiday Cottages this May, so if you're lucky enough to be in CoolNorfolk this month, make sure that you check them out!:


Fairhaven Water Garden
Geocache Trail >   Now until 3rd Nov, a visual cache round the garden (note: gps or app on smart phone required)
Butterfly Safari > 25 May – 2 June, how many butterflies can you spot? Prize to be won

Broads Outdoor Festival
4-19th May 2013. The thirds Broads Festival being helf throughout the Broads in May with various events being held daily throughout this time such as free canoeing morning and spring flowers week.

The Hunstanton Fun Dog Show
12th May – holding 12 novelty classes with rosettes up to 10th place at Glebe House School

Conservation in Action at Oxburgh Hall  
13-15th May – watch as the beautiful chandelier in the Saloon undergoes its annual clean!

Holkham Hall
Deer Discovery Walk >  11 May, join Deer Keeper Glyn Ingram on interesting facts about the deer in Holkham Park and how they change with the seasons. The walks are suitable for all ages with appropriate footwear. Well-behaved dogs on leads also welcome.

Gruffalo Day > 27 May
Come and join our Gruffalo Day. There are lots of things to make and play. A woodland mouse badge, a Gruffalo hat, A slithery snake, there’s much more than that.

Have you read the ‘The Snail and the Whale’? Would you like to make the whale's great tail? To ride on the tail you could make your very own, Itchy foot Snail made out of shells and a stone.

Then there’s ‘Room on the Broom’, let’s pretend you’re a witch, And make a wand and a broom from twigs, leaves and sticks. And a colourful dragon, but not too scary, He’s fierce in the story, we'd better be wary!

Walk through the pine woods, visit us on the way.

You can come and go as much as you please, We’ll be there all day having fun in the trees!

Tickets are £2 per child and accompanying adults free. Takes place in the pine woods at Wells next the Sea (use beach car park – charges apply)

Cromer & Sheringham Crab & Lobster Festival 
17-19th May – Historic rivals come together to raise money for local charities and to boost the local area with visitors. Whether it’s the opening concert, pier crabbing competition or watching some local chefs cook amazing dishes, lots to offer for all and plenty of fun for the kids with face painting, treasure trails and more.

Twiggle Turrets & Grubble Grottos @ Bewilderwood 
25 May – 2June – Come along & help create a minature village – tiny twiggle houses and grubble grottos. They will supply the templates and buildingy materials to make your house. Then when its finished you can place them on the shore of the Long Lagoon and watch as a village comes to life. Write a story about who might live in your house.

Fairy Fair at Holt Hall
26 & 27 May 10am to 5pm 
In the grounds of Holt Hall comes the fairy fair. With activities, workshops, music, performers and storytelling. There will be craft fairs and you can book a spot to make a fairy crown or some magic wings. Suitable for ages 3+
